Abstract:
These vector line data represent two wastewater pipelines owned and operated by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). One of the pipelines extends from the Nut Island Headworks, transporting screened wastewater to the Winthrop Terminal Headworks / Deer Island Sewage Treatment Plant for primary and secondary treatment. The other pipeline transports treated effluent from the Deer Island Sewage Treatment Plant to diffusers in Massachusetts Bay.
Purpose:
These data provide the approximate locations of two MWRA wastewater pipelines in Boston Harbor and Massachusetts Bay. They are intended to support diverse activities including planning, management, maintenance, research and analysis. They are not intended for navigational purposes.
